I hold my Master’s degree in Business Administration and studied with the intention of working in the nonprofit world. I began my early career in development for a local United Way and, after spending fifteen years at home raising my babies, re-entered the work world as the Development Coordinator for a program providing early intervention services for children born with developmental needs and/or delays. Most recently, I have served as Director of Marketing for a wealth management firm, gaining experience in the for-profit world and learning the ins and outs of marketing a small business.
I am a published author of a memoir titled, “My Unexpected Journey. My Surprising Joy.” and have written for my blog “Joy in the Journey” for many years. The stories I share are real, vulnerable, and always told with humor—that spice of life I depend on to flavor what can often be a challenging journey.
I am a wife to this guy I adore—and somehow like more and more each day. I am a mother to two grown sons and one daughter brought to us through the incredible gift of adoption. My definition of the good life is time spent in the presence of my family, my pack, my people. I am a life-long advocate for adoption and inclusivity for those living with special needs. I love chocolate, coffee, hot showers, and losing myself in a good read. I absolutely can’t stand spiders, clutter, or being cold and yes, that often leaves me questioning why I live in New England.
